A Wonderful Start to the School Year!

Dear Seaford Families,

What an incredible first week it’s been! The energy, enthusiasm, and smiles from our students have made this start to the school year truly special. Thank you for your support, your positivity, and for helping us launch the year on such a high note.

As we settle into our routines, we want to share some important information about our school safety drills. Throughout the year, we will conduct several drills to ensure that both students and staff are well-prepared in the event of an emergency. These drills include— but are not limited to—fire, tornado, and lockdown procedures.

• Some drills will be scheduled in advance, while others may be spontaneous to help us assess our readiness and response times.

• We often coordinate these drills with the Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Fire and Life Safety to ensure best practices and community collaboration.

• If you arrive at school during a drill, please be aware that you will be asked to remain outside until the drill concludes. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

• To avoid confusion during a real emergency, we will not notify families when drills occur unless there are unusual circumstances.

• We encourage you to talk with your child about emergency preparedness at home— it’s a great way to reinforce safety awareness. If you have any questions about our safety procedures or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school office. We’re here to help and always happy to talk.

Join the Seaford PTA! Our PTA plays a vital role in enriching the educational experience for all students. From providing classroom resources to organizing unforgettable events, their support makes a big difference. We invite all families to become members—your involvement truly matters!

As we head into the Labor Day weekend, we hope you enjoy some well-deserved rest and family time. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Seaford on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Warm regards,

Barbara Nagel, Principal
