Seaford Elementary Recognized by the Virginia Board of Education

Today, Seaford Elementary was officially recognized by the Virginia Board of Education as one of only seven schools in the state selected for the 2025 National Blue Ribbon Schools Program. Out of more than 1,800 public schools in Virginia, Seaford was one of just seven nominated—and one of only two to qualify in both the Exemplary High Performing and Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing categories.
Our application, submitted last spring in the Exemplary High Performing category, met every requirement. Although the federal program was discontinued before the national announcement, the Virginia Department of Education continued to honor the schools that earned nomination. Seaford was recognized at a ceremony in Richmond today.
This achievement reflects the dedication of our teachers and staff, the hard work of our students, the support of our families, and the strong leadership of the York County School Division and School Board. We are incredibly proud of our Seaford Bulldogs!
