To assist the division calendar committee’s work in evaluating start and end dates for the 2026-27 school year, families, students and staff are invited to participate in a brief survey by Sunday, March 23.

We will be celebrating Read Across America during the month of March. We will kick-off our celebration of reading with Seuss-inspired spirit week next week! We will be hosting guest readers from our community throughout the month. Don't forget to sign-up to come and read to your child's class!

Classes select students who consistently display these traits throughout the school building. These students are recognized on our Bulldog News! February's highlighted character trait was Caring.

YCSD and multiple Hampton Roads area businesses and organizations are partnering to support inclusivity and provide resources to families of students with disabilities.

Beginning January 6, 2025, all YCSD schools will implement No Cell, Bell-to-Bell policies. Ensuring students have their personal devices off and away during the school day fosters a safe and healthy learning environment, where students can fully engage in their studies and interact meaningfully with their peers and teachers.
